Did anyone see the gaggle of swans that had landed in the field between the A40 and the river near Llangadog? With the sun peaking throught the mist, highlighting their whiter than white outlines, it was a sight to behold.

Llanwrda NEWS......
Llanwrda Bloomers are holding a Bingo night this evening (Friday 19th Feb) in the Croes, Llanwrda at 7.30pm, to raise funds for more planting of bushes and flowers all over our village. The bulbs are beginning to come through and will look fantastic along our pathways and roads. The trees are beginning to bud and will be a glorious picture of leaf and bloom before we know it. Well done to the Bloomers for all their tireless effort and their vision for the village. Of course, we are also doing our bit for the planet, off-setting the carbon-footprint with the planting of the trees. How lovely for the children to see and to be encouraged by the effort of the villagers. Anyone wishing to help please ring: 01550 779257.
Anyone wishing to help with this site, please e-mail. All offers will be gratefully received and we can keep the communication going between us all.
Any funny stories, drawings, jokes or pictures, please send them through and we will expand our site.

CURTAIN UP!
At the Special Annual General Meeting held on Sunday, 7th February 2010, the committee presented an analysis of the Choir’s financial affairs for the year ending 31st March 2009. It was noted, with some satisfaction, that a total audience of over a thousand people attended our concerts that year. Artists, with whom we were proud to accompany, included Lynne Bryer, Emma Edwards, Aled Edwards, Robyn Lyn Evans and Beshlie Thorp.
We were reminded by the Chair that the Choir is a community based charity committed to keeping ticket prices affordable to all. Children under 14 are free and concessionary tickets are sold alongside set price tickets. It was agreed to keep the present price of tickets at £8 and £6, but the Choir agreed to increase their own annual subscription from £30 to £45to help ever increasing costs.
Choir members were asked to invite supporters to become “FRIENDS”. For only £10 a year a family would be entitled to advance bookings, a half-yearly newsletter and as our guests an invitation to all social events.
We would like to remind readers that the Choir meets every Sunday evening at 7.45 p.m. in the Community Hall, Llangadog. Under the baton of the Rev. Mike Cottam we are rehearsing BRAHMS REQUIEM to be performed in Christ Church, Carmarthen on Sunday, April 25th. New members are warmly welcome to join us now. There is no audition, just an enjoyment to sing with others.
The Choir wishes to thank everyone who has supported us during the past year and look forward to seeing you in April – not to mention June at the National Botanic Gardens, September for a String Quartet performance, October for a Choral concert and then Curtain Up for the Christmas Concert.
